Alpen Pass

Terms and conditions

Effective 6 November 2026

These terms apply to the Alpen Pass: Citizenship Test app for Android (the app), made by Marko Zanoski (we, us). By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Not a government service

Alpen Pass does not represent any government entity. It has no link to the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI), to any state government, to MA 35 or to the ÖIF, and it does not register you for the test. It issues no certificate or confirmation of any kind.

1. What the app is

The app is an independent study aid for the Austrian citizenship test (Staatsbürgerschaftsprüfung) set by the exam regulation (StbP-V). Every question, study chapter and explanation in it is our own wording, written from the official sources listed below. The questions are practice questions, not the questions of the real test.

We check the content against the official booklets and the law, and each question names its booklet and page so you can check it too. Laws, booklets and office holders change, and planned reforms may change the test and the procedure. Facts that change with elections carry a date, and the app shows the date of its content in About. The guide to the procedure is a short overview; only the law and your authority are binding. A mock exam shows where you stand; it is not the real test, and nothing in the app guarantees that you pass.

2. Official sources

These are the laws and the official study booklets the app is written from, each with its link. The app lists the same ones in Settings, Official sources.

3. Your license

When you install the app from Google Play, you get a personal, non exclusive, non transferable license to install and use it on Android devices linked to your Google account, for your own use. The app and everything in it remain ours. You may not copy, resell, rent, decompile or redistribute the app or its questions, except where the law allows it regardless of these terms.

4. Purchase and refunds

The app is free on Google Play. Pro is an optional in app purchase for a one time price shown in the store, with no subscription; the study chapters, the guide, the word list and 30 practice questions work fully without it. Google processes the payment. Refunds follow the Google Play refund policy, and you can request one through Google Play. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law where you live.

5. Updates

We may release updates that add, change or remove features or content, for example when a booklet or the law changes. We aim to keep the app working on current Android versions, but we cannot promise it will work on every device or every future version of Android.

6. No warranty

The app is provided as is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be error free, complete, up to date or fit for a particular purpose. If you find a mistake, please report it.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or use, arising from the app, including the result of your test or your application. Our total liability for any claim about the app is limited to the price you paid for Pro, if you bought it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Privacy

How the app handles data is described in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.

10. Ending

You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. If you break these terms, your license ends.
